Cake Pops

My friends and I made cake pops!  We crumbled it up some cake in a bowl and mixed a couple spoonfuls of frosting to it. We rolled them into balls and popped it in the freezer for 15 minutes. We used candy melts and melted them in a bowl with 1 or 2 tablespoons of Crisco. We dipped the tip of a lollipop stick in the candy melt, and then stuck it into the ball (but not all the way, or else the cake ball breaks apart). This acted like glue:

We wanted some cake pops to look like giant popcorn. So we broke up pieces of mini marshmallows, and "glued" them on to the bottom with candy melts. After the candy melt harden, we dipped the entire thing into the candy melt.

We used a pack of floral foam to hold them up while they dried:

Brushing pearl dust on top:

We also made chocolate cake pops with marshmallows inside:

My friend hit the "popcorn" with a can of yellow cake decorating airbrush thing. Now they really look like popcorn!
